Apache Mobile Filter Compatibility
Apache Mobile Filter is an Open Source Free Perl add-on to Apache which does device detection for every access and passes the results on as part of the headers your application receives. Although detection is "quick and dirty" compared to the detection you would get from a DetectRight API running in your application, the sheer number of user-agents in our data and the tokenisation approach to detection means that it has an important place in the server-side toolkit.
DetectRight is a data option in Apache Mobile Filter: Apache Mobile Filter would download your data directly from a live DetectRight URL accessed with your DetectRight username and password. Our data delivers the best performance for site switching and image resizing, as well as basic media support data and extensive component diagnostics.
Although our replacement bulk WURFL XML file will work with Apache Mobile Filter too, most users would want our standard DRURFL schema, which is a very light schema with a WURFL flavour.
The DRURFL Schema
aac brand_name devicedescriptor deviceid device_claims_web_support device_dp device_dp_version device_os device_os_version device_type gif is_tablet is_wireless_device j2me_midp_version jpg max_image_width mobile_browser mobile_browser_version model_name mp3 playback_3gpp playback_mp4 png preferred_markup resolution_height resolution_width
This schema is also available as a "Basic" data option for our Detection API. See pricing and licensing.
These datapoints are also available as part of our Bulk data services.
